Education for change: changing education?

The theme for this year's conference is "Education for change: changing education?"  The conference explores the possibilities for scholars to bring about change as they advance educational theory and practice.

The field of educational research must, if it is to be relevant, have a level of responsiveness to the world. In order for education to be responsive, it must be reflexive of itself as a social "institution" that has impact on the world.

A PhD is formally described as ‘a significant and original academic contribution at the frontiers of a discipline or field’ (as stipulated in the higher education qualifications sub-framework). This year's conference theme asks you to consider how your contribution might open up possibilities for re-imagining education and the world.

It also invites you to reflect on how the ‘contribution at the frontier’ might live in the world as praxis. What are the configurations of relationships and concerns that are part of us actualising the possibilities we envision? How might this contribution might be supported to ‘live on’ in a responsive theory and practice?
